ENGLISH LITERATURE/COMPOSITION
Participants will read, score and discuss the most
recent AP English Lit Exam.This course will address organization of the
AP class; curriculum development; strategies for teaching poetry, short stories,
and the novel. Particular emphasis will be placed on teaching the rudiments of
literary theory and creating a student-centered classroom which will encourage
creative as well as analytical thinking and writing.

Dr. Peter
Drewniany - Peter teaches at Germantown Academy,
Fort Washington, PA, where he serves as the head of the English Department and
holds the William Schoff Chair for Distinguished Teaching in English.
He is experienced as a reader, and Table Leader for both the English Language
and Literature exams. He co-authored The AP Verticle Teams Guide for
English and leads Vertical Team and AP workshops for the College board. |
